Facility Description:
Elegant Curtis Hall was once the music room in the lavish Curtis estate.  Situated in a lovely 45-acre arboretum with rolling hills, two ponds and over 50 tree varieties, Curtis Hall offers a uniquely beautiful setting for weddings, anniversaries or other special events.

A gorgeous ornate ceiling crowns the ballroom complete with hardwood floors.  The air-conditioned hall can seat 100 or accommodate 120 for cocktail-style affairs, while an outdoor slate terrace offers seating for an additional 20 to 30 people for an overall maximum of 150.  A scenic garden area adjacent to the hall is a popular spot for wedding ceremonies. Kitchen facilities, a stage, ample parking and handicapped access to the main floor are available.


Catering
Choose your own caterer: Curtis and Glenside Halls do not have an in-house caterer or a preferred catering list. Therefore, a caterer of your choosing may be used as long as they meet our insurance requirements. Along those same lines, alcohol may be served as long as the caterer carries liquor liability insurance. For "drop off catering" the caterer/restaurant must meet all insurance requirements.  Clients are STRICTLY PROHIBITED from bringing/cooking their own food; only a license and insured caterer may supply the food.

Rules and Regulations
  • Eligibility - Applicant must be at least 21 years old.
  • Fees - Fees are based on 5 hour rental period plus 2½ hours preparation and 1 hour cleanup. Events over 5 hours long will be charged overtime. Activities beyond midnight  are prohibited.
  • Security Deposit - There is a $500 refundable security deposit required, in addition to the rental fee for either facility. The deposit will be returned provided there are no damages.
  • Refunds - A refund of the deposit (less a $50 administrative fee) may be given if an acceptable written cancellation notice is received more than six (6) months prior to the scheduled event.  The deposit will be forfeited for a cancellation less than six (6) months before the event.
  • Reservations – A deposit of one-half of the rental fee (50%) must be submitted with the application to reserve the facility.  Sixty (60) days prior to the event, the balance (remaining 50%) and a refundable $500 security deposit (plus a Park Security Officer fee, if applicable), is due.  Clients renting facilities less than sixty (60) days in advance are required to pay the full amount and security deposit  (plus Park Security Officer fee, if applicable) to reserve the date.
  • Insurance - Certificates of Insurance are required of all caterers. If the certificate is not received at least 60 days before the event, the reservation will be canceled without refund.
  • Tables & Chairs - A limited number are available.  Set up and clearing are the applicant’s responsibility.  Please contact Facility Coordinator for complete details.
  • Tenting - Tents are permitted on the patio area at Curtis Hall facility only. Tenting on any grass area is strictly prohibited.
  • Alcohol - Alcoholic beverages are permitted, as long as the caterer/client provides the required liquor liability insurance.  Sale of alcohol is prohibited.  Bars must be setup on a covering to protect the hardwood floors.

Certificate of Insurance Requirements

 ** Requirements Strictly Enforced to the Fullest Extent  **

A.   CATERING SERVICES MUST PROVIDE:

1.    Comprehensive Liability Insurance -- $1,000,000
2.    Automobile/Business Insurance -- $1,000,000
3.    Host Liquor Liability -- $500,000
4.    Workers’ Compensation -- Statutory

A rental is granted with the understanding that once the client decides on a caterer, THE CLIENT MUST MAKE SURE THAT A  PHOTOCOPY OF THE CATERER’S CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IS PROVIDED IMMEDIATELY TO:

Also be reminded that if the Certificate of Insurance is not received at least sixty (60) days prior to the event, THE RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELLED AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUND.
