Community Policing
Community Policing Our Community Policing Unit is made of Officers dedicated to meeting the Police Department mission of developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with the community we serve.

Our Community Policing Unit strives to involve the community as partners in problem solving, reducing crime, and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

The goal of our Community Policing Unit is to improve communication between the business community, neighbors, and the Cheltenham Police Department. The Unit provides a wide variety of services to the community from educating the public on crime prevention methods, to teaching Drug Awareness and Resistance Education (DARE) program in our Schools.

All of the Officers in the Unit are specially trained in Police Bicycle procedures, and we regularly patrol both residential and commercial areas on our bikes. It is during these bike patrols that our Officers are able to meet face to face with people. Our goal is to develop a greater familiarity between our residents and Police.
